Our Story

Located in the beautiful and highly picturesque Kiewa Valley gateway to the Victorian alps,  Skiplus shop is about a 45 minute drive to the snow-capped village of Falls Creek and situated on the Kiewa Valley Highway (Great Alpine Way) Tawonga South just near the Kiewa river bridge crossing.
In 2004 myself, my eldest son, (who was employed by the current owners, spent many years at Skiplus working after school), and two mates decided to take on the snow adventure by taking over ownership and operations of the already successful business.
Just a few years ago one of my partner’s decided to call it a day and handover his share to another one of my sons, which he also worked at Skiplus as a young lad with the past owners.
The management of Skiplus is tasked to our daughter Elissa, who employees her brothers, her son and locals for the winter seasons. Elissa has been at the helm for almost 8 years, in which she has been a great asset ,not only to running of the shop but to all our valued customers that return each season for the best experience from hiring from Skiplus.
Another son works part time when required, he has a vast amount of experience to bring to the business as he has been a snowboard instructor at Falls Creek for many years, also all the crew at Skiplus have had several years experience with skiing and snowboarding as they were all brought up on the snow fields through their schools days at Mt Beauty, just like all our return and new customers, they love and enjoy all aspects of snow sports.
My family and partner’s family have been operating Skiplus for nearly 20 years, we have lived in Tawonga South for over 25 years, we all know our town, surrounding area and people very well. Skiplus family is here for you to make sure you and your family have the best day possible and enjoy all aspects of snow sports including downhill Skiing and a slide on a Snowboard.
Also don’t forget the kids, and grab a couple our toboggans, they will have a great time at the designated tobogganing area located at Windy corner, a 10 minute walk from Slalom Plaza or accessible via a free shuttle from the village.
Or if your keen to burn a bit of energy, take a hike around the resort, on their well kept trails surrounded by the great Alpine National Park, from an easy 1/2 hour stroll to more challenging day hike, you will not be disappointed.
